Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly lost billions as companies boycott advertising on the platform.

On a regular basis, Google compiles a list of which technology topics are being queried the most by US users in its dedicated Search engine. Over the past 24 hours, Apple's refusal to integrate a series of Web APIs in the name of privacy topped Google's technology Search trends.

Over the past 24 hours, Apple and Facebook garnered the most attention in Google Search's trending technology topics.

Apple recently announced that Safari will not support a total of 16 Web APIs -- which pose fingerprinting risks -- in an attempt to protect user privacy. Among those Apple declined to implement in its dedicated web browser are Web Bluetooth, Ambient Light Sensor and Proximity Sensor, all of which could allow websites to collect information about a user, their device or their surroundings.

Facebook • Mark Zuckerberg • Social media

Over the weekend, as reported by Bloomberg, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg "just became $7.2 billion poorer" as a slew of companies like Starbucks, Ben & Jerry's and Levi Strauss decided to stop advertising on the social media platform. The boycott is in response to the company's failure to control the hate present on the site.
